Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) curriculum is for men, women, and children aged 6 and up. BJJ is the art of grappling or groundfighting. It includes clinch work, takedowns, and self-defense as well as chokes, arm locks, and leg locks. BJJ trains you to defeat stronger and larger opponents. It has figured prominently in Ultimate Fighting Championships and is considered an essential part of any mixed martial artist’s repertoire. Apart from its combat aspects, BJJ is a lifestyle that emphasizes respect for oneself and one’s opponents, and an almost total absence of ego. There are only five core adult belt ranks — white, blue, purple, brown, and black — the progression of which can take 10-15 years. BJJ is a lifelong journey, marked by jiu-jiteiros who practice well into their senior years.
Boxing
Western-style boxing has a long and distinguished history marked by such luminaries as Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, and Mike Tyson. Our program, for men, women, and children of all ages, features classes in technique and sparring. You don’t have to spar to train with us. Our technique-only classes will still contribute to a formidable self-defense arsenal and give you a great workout.
