We are happy to inform everyone that Virginia is going to Phase 3 on July 3, 2020. Here are some important updates for Total Defense Martial Arts beginning Monday, July 6:
TDMA hopes everyone will keep investing in our school. Many schools have shut down during the last 3 months. Thankfully, we have made it through, and now we must keep moving forward. All have enjoyed taking these classes and just getting together with the crew. TDMA is taking all the precautions we can take to keep us all safe by following Virginia’s rules as much as possible and still getting a great workout.

Total Defense Martial Arts FMA students are now training live again
Woo Hoo!
The Staunton News Leader interviewed Total Defense Martial Arts owner Brian Rose as part of its two-part series on the impact of COVID-19 on local gyms.
Here’s where you can read them:
“What will gyms look like when they reopen? We talked with area gym owners to get an idea”
The truth is we don’t exactly know when we’ll reopen. The City of Staunton’s official statement yesterday says this:
The city remains subject to a temporary stay at home order issued by Governor Ralph Northam on March 30, 2020 that will remain in force until June 10, 2020, unless extended or rescinded by further executive order. This stay at home order, together with other executive orders issued by the governor, will continue to guide the city in its decisions concerning operating protocols until further direction is received from the federal and state governments.
In other words, the city doesn’t know either!
While we wait, Total Defense continues to put out short instructional videos on boxing, FMA, and BJJ on its Facebook group. If you’re interested in training with us, please send us a request there to join up.
As soon as we receive guidance about when we can safely reopen on a limited or full basis, we will post here to let you know. Stay safe, and keep training!
We are delighted to announce that we have put together a system to continue providing daily video lessons to our students via the TDMA Private Facebook Page. If you are not a member of our Private Facebook Page, please let us know, and we will be happy to add you so you won’t miss any of the lessons. Click here to join.
Here is the weekly lesson schedule:
Monday – BJJ
Tuesday – FMA
Wednesday – Boxing
Thursday – BJJ
Friday – FMA
Even if you do not train in all of the programs, feel free to take advantage of all the lessons taught! A little cross training never hurt anyone! As always, if you have any questions, comments, or feedback, please let us know! Thanks for hanging in with us during these unprecedented times. We are family, and even though we are apart, we are still together. Continue training, and stay safe everyone!
